MTV Base bans all songs under Marlian label

MTV Base, an international music channel, has joined the growing list of music outlets that have placed a ban on all artists under Marlian music.

After the controversial death of Mohbad, some radio stations around the country decided to place a “Not to Be Broadcast” (NTTB) ban on all the songs under the Marlian Record Label.  The ban by MTV was announced by TV host, Ehizojie Okoeguale aka DadaBoy who is also a staff of MTV Base.

Marlian Music is a record label owned by popular Nigerian artists, Naira Marley who has been accused of being involved in Mohbad’s death.

He made the announcement on his X (tweeter) handle on Wednesday, September 20th, 2023.

The move by MTV comes after the emergence of several videos of harassment and bullying of Mohbad, leading many to point accusing fingers at the label’s boss and his well-known associate, Sam Larry.
